Men’s Revive Golf Tournament
It’s time to start forming your team for the Men’s Retreat Golf Tournament!
We are confident that you know about the Men’s “Revive” event that takes place at the Iowa Regular
Baptist Camp every August, but we want to make sure you are aware of the special, “Value-Added
Opportunity” that takes place in conjunction with the retreat. We are speaking, of course, of the Men’s
Retreat Golf Tournament!
The golf tournament is held at Rice Lake Golf and Country Club, about 20 or so miles north of the
campground. We use a “shotgun” start at 10:00 am, and hold the awards ceremony at about 3:00 pm.
We are always done with plenty of time to get to camp and get checked in before supper.
Golfers of any ability can join in the fun, because it is a “Best Shot” format. Everyone on your team
takes a shot, and then the team chooses which shot was the best, and everyone takes their next shot
from the spot where the best previous shot landed. Additionally, there is a two-putt maximum rule
which keeps things moving along on the greens.
We know that the golf tournament is a great opportunity for fun and fellowship with other believers.
We also want to make sure that believers are aware that this is an event where you can invite your
unsaved friends. If you have a burden for the lost, but you struggle with ways to get involved in the lives
of others, this is your chance. We keep the event fun and casual so that you have opportunity to build
relationships as the Lord leads. It may be that your unsaved friend is not comfortable coming to an
overnight retreat, but maybe he will come along to play golf and then join the retreat for supper and the
Friday evening session. Or, if he is only willing to come for the golf, we make a point to share a short
devotional with a clear gospel presentation at the awards ceremony. Inviting someone to this golf
tournament is an easy “next step” as you build a relationship. If finances are a burden, we can work

and that lost souls will be won.
