Shirley Domokos with the Lord

Shirley Domokos, the wife of Dr. Bob Domokos, passed away on April 30. Dr. Domokos is a retired professor of Pastoral Studies at Faith and has preached and served as an interim pastor in several IARBC churches.

As a child, Shirley placed her faith and trust in Jesus Christ and, as an adult, spent her life serving her Lord however she could. After graduating from high school, Shirley attended Cedarville College (now Cedarville University) and graduated with a major in music. While attending Cedarville, she met Robert Domokos, and they were united in marriage on June 30, 1962.

Shirley worked as a secretary while Robert was in seminary and was by his side as a pastor’s wife when he pastored churches in Indiana and Ohio. Robert, Shirley, and their two children, Michael and Brenda, moved to Ankeny, IA, in 1972, when Robert became a professor at Faith Baptist Bible College.

Shirley used her musical ability to faithfully serve as church organist, and often pianist, including as organist at Ankeny Baptist Church for 40 years. After her children were grown, Shirley worked part-time in the Accounting Office and then as the secretary for the Music Department at Faith Baptist Bible College & Theological Seminary.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers monetary donations to Ankeny Baptist Church and/or Faith Baptist Bible College & Theological Seminary.
