Philippians 1:23-24

In the Apostle Paul’s considerations about his comparison between staying alive on earth or dying and going to heaven, he said,

“For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better

Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you.”  Philippians 1:23-24

What makes this more helpful, is to understand that according to 2 Corinthians 12:2-4, Paul had been allowed to enter the third heaven where God resides,.  Although he could not reveal heaven’s details, his evaluation was that it is far better than being here.

Therefore, another Biblical comfort for us concerning believers who have died is, according to Paul’s eyewitness account, they are far better off than they could possibly be here!

Let’s rejoice with them in their joy.
